What we collect, why, and who can see it. Draft, to be replaced by the reviewed version.
What we collect
- Account details: the agency's name and state, each enrolled person's name, rank, agency email, and sign-in records.
- Runs: the transcript of each conversation, the officer's audio, the debrief, timings, and which fictional person was drawn.
- Payments: handled by a payment provider; we keep the receipt, never the card.
What we don't collect
No real case information. No location. No camera video unless the agency turns on the "the character can see you" setting, and then it is used live and not kept. Nothing from the officer's device beyond the browser session.
Who can see a run
The officer who ran it, the agency's coordinator, and Investigative Logic staff for support. We don't share runs between agencies and we don't sell data.
How the service is built
Conversations are generated and voiced by third-party speech and language services under contract to us. They receive the text and audio of the conversation to do that work and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We don't name them here so that this page doesn't go stale; a current list is available to any agency on request.
Keeping and deleting
Runs are kept for the life of the agency's account and for 90 days after it ends, then deleted. An agency can ask for earlier deletion of any run or person.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed, sessions expire, sign-in is rate-limited, and data is held on servers in the United States. Tell us at once at contact@investigativelogic.com if you believe an account has been misused.
Children
The service is for sworn officers and agency staff. It is not offered to anyone under 18.
